Amr Moussa is one of the Arab world's most distinguished diplomats and statesmen. Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1936, he served as Egypt's Foreign Minister from 1991 to 2001, as Secretary-General of the Arab League from 2001 to 2011, and remained a central figure in Arab political life through the transformations that followed the Arab Spring. His diplomatic career spans over five decades of consequential engagement with every major regional and international challenge facing the Arab world.
